  Sergio Fahrer

  founder-designer

  Designer, musician and founding partner of Fahrer, Sergio Fahrer began his career in design in 1992 with the Blues chair. Inspired by the construction methods of musical instruments, the piece received the Woodcraft Design Award in 1993 and set off the research that led to the development and patent of a multi-lamination technique for bent wood, one of the hallmarks of his work.

  Experimentation, the development of new materials and research into ergonomics guide his practice, which explores a range of raw materials, construction processes and technical solutions. His recognitions also include the selection of the Cariaí armchair as "Top One" by the British magazine IdFX in 2006. His work has been shown in exhibitions and publications and is part of residential, corporate and institutional projects in Brazil and abroad.

  He takes part in talks and events on design and creative processes, notably DW! São Paulo Design Weekend and ICFF in New York. He has served on the juries of the Museu da Casa Brasileira Design Award and the VEJA SP Best Space Award at CASACOR. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Brazilian Association of Authorial Design (BRADA).

  Jack Fahrer

  Designer, musician and partner at Fahrer, Jack Fahrer has built his career across fashion, music and object design. His training in fashion led him to found Ácido Vinil, a label dedicated to developing clothing and stage costumes for musicians, bringing together textiles, construction and visual expression.

  In 2007 he joined Fahrer, bringing to furniture design a sensibility attuned to color, texture and the behavior of materials.

  Heloisa Samaia

  designer

  Designer, architect, and partner at Fahrer, Heloísa Samaia graduated from the University of São Paulo’s School of Architecture and Urbanism in 1983. She began her professional career working alongside architect Gian Carlo Gasperini and has since developed projects in architecture, interiors, and furniture design.

  Her relationship with Fahrer began in the 2010s through projects developed with Sergio and Jack. In 2020, she became a partner at the studio, expanding her role in the development of original furniture designs.
